I just wanted to remind you all of a few upcoming events.  - Survey:  Attached is information detailing our upcoming SEL survey. - Halloween Spooktacular, Sat., 10/28, 5:00-7:00:  This annual student council-sponsored event is for elementary students.  Come out and trick or treat throughout the the school! - Potter Pride Night, Thu., 11/2:  We unofficially kick off the basketball season with the girls playing Washington and the boys playing an intrasquad scrimmage after. Girls play at 4:30 and boys play around 7:00. - Elementary parent/teacher conferences, 11/9-10:  The JH & HS will be in session as usual. Good luck to the Hogs in the play-offs this weekend! Dear Morton Junior High School Families, Illinois School Code (School Safety Drill Act) requires that all schools prepare and practice for a full school evacuation as part of their school drill procedures. Throughout the school year, we practice drills for a variety of purposes.  We conduct annual fire drills, severe weather drills, and bus evacuation drills.  Schools are also required to work in collaboration with local law enforcement to plan and practice a full scale evacuation drill. This fall, MJHS will be participating in a full school evacuation drill in collaboration with the Morton Police Department.  This drill will take place on Tuesday, October 17 at 8:15am.  We anticipate that the drill will last approximately two hours from beginning to end.  Upon returning to school, students will go about their day with an adjusted class schedule.     Every student, teacher, and staff member (with the exception of certain school office personnel) ...

Parent / Guardians,  Parent/Teacher Conferences will be here before we know it!   We have two options for parents to choose from for Conferences.  Please see options below to choose which type of parent-teacher conference works best for you and your schedule. OPTION #1 - EMAIL —I would like an email synopsis from my student’s TEAM of teachers. Parent / Guardians,  Tomorrow, our 8th Graders will attend the annual Career Spark Expo at the Civic Center. This interactive, hands-on experience will provide our students with opportunities to learn about dozens of careers in a variety of fields. This event is sponsored by the Greater Peoria Economic Development Council and Junior Achievement of Central Illinois.  Students will be bussed from MJHS to the Civic Center and will be gone from the building from 11:00AM -2:00PM.  Students will be eating their lunches (hot or cold) before leaving the junior high for the event.   We are looking forward to once again attending this event! Parents & Guardians -    The Red & White PTO is sponsoring a JH Tailgate event in celebration of MHS’s Homecoming on Friday, September 29 from 5:00-7:00.  And with a baseball win this Saturday, we will also be celebrating a State Finals trip as well.  This will take place in the JH parking lot.  If it rains, we will move it indoors. Gray Team Parents/Guardians,  Each year the Red & White Club (PTO) coordinates “teacher appreciation” breakfast/snacks for the staff on or around the first Monday of each month.  Instead of asking all parents each month to consider contributing, we will ask one team’s parents each month.  For this month, we are asking the 8th Grade’s Gray Team parents.
