It’s important for children to sleep well at night because sleep helps them learn, concentrate, and manage their behavior and emotions. Sometimes, kids who don’t get enough sleep even get misdiagnosed with ADHD. Parents can help their children build healthy sleep habits by using a few consistent strategies. There’s a name for that: “test anxiety.” Unfortunately, with the increasing prevalence of standardized testing, test anxiety is also on the rise. Most students say that they’re more stressed by schoolwork and tests than by anything else in their lives. 16-20% of students have high test anxiety, and another 18% have moderately high test anxiety. Test anxiety increases mistakes, reduces reasoning and working memory, creates confusion, and lowers test scores. More importantly, it’s harmful to the well-being of our children. April Happenings

Parents -  Spring break is upon us!  I think it is safe to say all students and staff are ready!  We hope you all have a safe, relaxing, and enjoyable time away!   School life continues to be busy.  After the exciting end to the winter sports season with the success of the volleyball and wrestling, spring is off and running, literally.   - Track & Field:  Keenan Smith broke the school record in the 400 M Dash!   - Music:  $1,200 in scholarships were presented to six students during our annual Heidi White Memorial Concert. - Scholastic Bowl:  Continues its successful season!  - Bowling:  Won our first ever interscholastic bowling match!   After next week, we will be heading quickly into the home stretch.  Some upcoming APRIL events: - Leadership Academy and Early Release - Apr. 12 - IAR Testing:  Apr. 13-14 & 17-18 - 6th Grade Parent Orientation:  Apr. 17 & 18, 6:00 in the Kiln - PTO Meeting:  Apr. 20, 7:00 - Spring Dance:  Apr. 21, 7:00-9:00 (tickets for sale at lunch the w
