April Happenings

Parents -

Spring break is upon us!  I think it is safe to say all students and staff are ready!  We hope you all have a safe, relaxing, and enjoyable time away!

School life continues to be busy.  After the exciting end to the winter sports season with the success of the volleyball and wrestling, spring is off and running, literally.

- Track & Field:  Keenan Smith broke the school record in the 400 M Dash!

- Music:  $1,200 in scholarships were presented to six students during our annual Heidi White Memorial Concert.

- Scholastic Bowl:  Continues its successful season!

- Bowling:  Won our first ever interscholastic bowling match!

After next week, we will be heading quickly into the home stretch.  Some upcoming APRIL events:

- Leadership Academy and Early Release - Apr. 12

- IAR Testing:  Apr. 13-14 & 17-18

- 6th Grade Parent Orientation:  Apr. 17 & 18, 6:00 in the Kiln

- PTO Meeting:  Apr. 20, 7:00

- Spring Dance:  Apr. 21, 7:00-9:00 (tickets for sale at lunch the week of the dance)

- 8th Grade PSAT and IL Science Assessment:  Apr. 24-27

- Grandparents Day:  Apr. 28

As you can see Grandparents Day is coming up fast.  We encourage all students to invite their grandparents for a meal and attend a couple of classes  I have attached the two different reservation forms (8th Graders have breakfast and 7th Graders have lunch). Please return these ASAP after Spring Break.  Student meal tickets cost $4.00 but grandparent meals are complimentary.  (Some families choose to bring their own ‘cold’ lunch which is quite alright).

Also, for your consideration, the PTO is working towards providing snacks for students during testing and breakfast for staff:
