Grandparents Day Info - Parent Email, 3/28/25
Parents/Guardians,
One of our favorite days of the year is Grandparents Day. This year it is on Friday, April 25, and it is always a great experience for both our students and their grandparents. We are not exactly sure how long we have been celebrating Grandparents Day, but our best guess is around 40 years.
This day has gotten so successful that we have broken it into two parts:
8th Graders have breakfast and take their grandparent(s) to two morning classes
7th Graders have lunch and take their grandparent(s) to two afternoon classes
In order to plan and be adequately prepared for the day, we need parents to complete two steps: fill out this registration form and purchase meal tickets. These two steps are very important to the planning and preparation of the day. The registration is as detailed as it is because often times grandparents will bring lunch with them. This is certainly acceptable. We just need to know who all is planning to do that in order to plan accurately. We also need to know whether or not grandparents will stay and visit classes. Most do but some don’t. Knowing these details are critical for our planning.
There is one difference this year from the past. Regrettably, grandparent meals are no longer complimentary. After completing the registration form, meal tickets ($4.00 each) can be purchased online through Revtrak. The deadline for students to register and purchase meal tickets is WEDNESDAY, APRIL 9. Meal tickets will be passed out directly to students prior to the 25th.
Something we are adding this year is a slideshow to be shown in the gym during both breakfast and lunch. If you would like to submit a picture or two, please upload to the these two Google photo albums:

And lastly, we are always looking for volunteers to assist in making this day as smoothly as possible. If you are interested in helping out in some way, either on Thursday during setup or on Friday, please check out our volunteer signup genius link.
We look forward to seeing all of our grandparents! Thank you!
