Parent Email, Aug. 7

Parents & Guardians - 

The first day of school is rapidly approaching.  We are finishing up our summer maintenance and cleaning

and will be ready for students on Tuesday, August 12.  


Students are still welcome and encouraged to come into school tomorrow and move into their lockers,

practice their locker combinations, and walk their schedule.


This year’s first day of school activities will be slightly different than those in the past. 

This year, the entire student body will be participating in a building-wide orientation program.  Students

will be meeting their teachers and visiting classes, but in a different format.  There will be NO homework!  


I would like to stress that students should not bring ANYTHING to school on the first day. 

They won’t need their binders, folders, or boxes of Kleenex until the next day, Wednesday, August 13.

Grandparents Day Reservation

  Reservation Link Info Flyer  Email: Parents and Guardians,  One of our favorite days of the year is Grandparents Day. This year is is on Friday, April 26, and it is always a great experience for both our students and their grandparents. 8th Graders have the opportunity enjoy breakfast in the Kiln and then take their grandparent(s) to two morning classes.  7th Graders have lunch and then accompany their grandparent(s) to two afternoon classes.  Grandparent meals are complimentary and the student meal is $4.00.  Below is the sign-up link.     Sign-Up Form Have nice rest of your week and a restful Spring Break! Parent Email, March 24, 2025 - Upcoming Testing

Parents/Guardians, We will begin our annual standardized testing when we return from spring break.  Both the 7th and Grades take the IAR ( Illinois Assessment of Readiness ). The 8th Grade will also take the PreACT 8/9 and the ISA ( Illinois Science Assessment ). These tests provide much-needed insight into how our students are progressing and in turn ready for high school.  This data also helps us evaluate our curriculum, programming, and instructional strategies.  Testing Schedule : -  8th Grade PreACT 8/9 - Thu., Apr. 3; 8:15-12:00 -  7th Grade IAR - Mon.-Fri., Apr. 7-10; 8:00-10:15 (one test per day) -  8th Grade IAR - Mon.-Fri., Apr. 7-10; 10:20-12:20 (one test per day) -  8th Grade ISA - Tue., Apr. 15; 8:15-11:30 & 1:30-3:00 Here are some testing reminders that critical to our students: Please send your students with WIRED headphones.  Air pods won’t work.  (We will have some available.) iPads need to be FULLY charged.  Stud...
