Parent Email: HAT Kick-Off, Aug. 21, 2026
Parents & Guardians,
Today kicks off the 14th annual Help-a-Thon. Students received an envelope containing: pledge form, pledge/donation receipt, parent letter, and FAQ flyer. I encourage you to take a look at these papers.
This fundraiser runs for the next two weeks with pledges due back to students’ HOMEROOM teachers on Friday, September 4. Students who collect $250+ earn a field trip later this semester where they will have a second opportunity to “Help” outside of Morton. The Help-a-Thon will be on Friday, October 9, the last day of the first quarter.
We still have openings for t-shirt sponsors for anyone interested. For $400, your company logo will be printed on 600 help-a-thon t-shirts. Please complete this form if you are interested.
Regarding parking, please DO NOT park in the bus lane on the EAST side of the building (along 3rd Ave.) after school. This is for our buses picking up team for away ball games. It is unfortunate when cars are blocked in by these buses which also then causes the street to be partially blocked. I realize it is tempting to park there but please park in the lot.
And lastly, for our bike/scooter riders: please remind your students that bicycles and scooters should be walked on school grounds. This keeps everyone safe especially during the before/after school busy times.
Our renovation is nearing completion. We hope to have the A/C working and the practice gym open for class very soon.
Thanks and have a great weekend!
Chris Carter
Principal
